Survivalism and politics: an impossible entente?

In a context of security withdrawal and identity concerns, survivalism has been the subject of fierce criticism from public authorities.
In January 2021, Laurent Nunez, then national coordinator of intelligence and the fight against terrorism, even spoke of a "survivalist movement", which he equated with "supremacism".

Between misunderstandings and political recuperations, survivalism has been the object of criticism, sometimes legitimate but often caricatured. What can be done to improve relations between the proponents of survivalism and the political authorities? Is survivalism by nature opposed to the principle of the State? These are the questions Olivier Degouve seeks to answer.
