Dr. Jan-Cedric Hansen

Hospital Practitioner and President of the International Commission on Disaster Medicine

 

Although little-known, CBRN issues are part of everyday life in France: understand them and be prepared.

Dr Jan-Cédric Hansen is a hospital practitioner, and an expert auditor for the European Commission, in particular on nuclear, radiological, biological and chemical (NRBC) risk mitigation. He is also President of the International Commission on Disaster Medicine (CIMIC-ICDM), Vice-President of the Global Health Security Alliance (GloHSA), Vice-President of the European Council on Disaster Medicine (ECDM) and co-founder of the Collaboration for Research to Enhance Disaster Outcomes (CREDO). For over 20 years, he has been involved in a European training program in strategic crisis management run by the Université de Lorraine in partnership with the Institut de la Maitrise des Risques (IMdR), the above-mentioned learned societies and StratAdviser Ltd, a British company of which he is a member of the Board of Directors, to train executives and engineers from SEVESO companies, local and hospital civil servants, doctors and carers; in the basics of cindynics for the analysis of "unthinkable" risks and the operational organization of crisis units. He is a regular contributor to national and international media (LCI, CNEWS, FRANCE24 FR & EN, ....) and publishes regularly in peer-reviewed scientific and medical journals.
